Vestibular Rehabilitation
Vestibular rehabilitation is a specialized form of therapy designed to reduce dizziness and imbalance. It involves an individualized, problem-oriented approach to promote compensation and brain adaptation. Vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) is an exercise-based treatment program designed to promote vestibular compensation, habituation, adaptation, or substitution.
The goals of VRT are:
Enhance Gaze
Stability
Increase Postural Stability
Improve
Vertigo/Dizziness
Boost Daily
Living Activities
Incorporating vestibular therapy into the rehabilitation process of those who have sustained a brain injury can have excellent results in returning their function and reducing future risks.

Topple Diagnostics is excited to co-sponsor the Vestibular Management and Therapy Certification class for chiropractors with Georgia Equilibrium Diagnostics. This workshop will offer a comprehensive overview of diagnosis and management of dizzy patients, with a special focus on vestibular rehabilitation therapy techniques. We will cover the anatomy and physiology of the pertinent systems, identification and diagnosis of the dizzy patient, and treatment for patients with central and peripheral vestibular disorders including BPPV, concussion, and unilateral vestibular hypofunction. Using the most current research and evidence based practice, attendees will learn and experience hands-on practice to better understand the techniques and strategies necessary for managing the "dizzy" patient. At the conclusion of the workshop, each attendee will receive certification in vestibular management and therapy. In order to keep attendees and instructors safe, the classroom portion of the workshop will be performed via live webinar. Participants will then work in small groups with instructors to get hands on practice and take the practical portion of the certification exam.
Certification:
Certification in vestibular management and therapy will allow clinicians to better serve their patients and help close the loop of care. Upon completion and successful certification, clinicians will be capable of helping manage both peripheral and central disorders commonly associated with head injuries and falls. This certification will also allow clinicians to continue working with patients once proper stabilization and management has occurred.
